Tara and Steve, a couple grieving the loss of their beloved 18-year-old cat Jackson, decided it was time to open their hearts and home to another furry friend. They visited the Exploits Valley SPCA and fell head over heels for Shadow, a tabby who reminded them so much of Jackson.
The couple was so excited to meet Shadow that they arrived 45 minutes early for their scheduled meet-and-greet. And it was love at first sight! They knew right away that Shadow was coming home with them.
But, as fate would have it, the story didn’t end there. While discussing the possibility of adopting a second cat, they were introduced to Poco, a white and brown furball who instantly won Tara’s heart with his purrs and snuggles.
Just when they thought it couldn’t get any better, another tabby named Pony entered the scene and charmed the couple by rubbing against their legs. Suddenly, Tara and Steve were faced with a delightful dilemma: one cat was great, but three were even better!
Tara joked, “It was like they had a group meeting the night before where they prepared ahead of time how to get us to adopt all three.”
Unable to resist the adorable trio, Tara and Steve made the heartwarming decision to adopt all three cats, renaming them Chirp, Flynn, and Riggs.
Back at home, the three furry friends quickly settled into their new life. Flynn, the purring machine, and Riggs, the expert flopper, became inseparable. Chirp, who had a bit of a rough past, needed some extra love and reassurance, but he was slowly starting to feel safe and secure with his new family.
Tara and Steve have absolutely no regrets about adopting all three cats. They adore their new furry family members and believe that they were all meant to be together.
Thanks to Chirp, Flynn, and Riggs, their house finally feels like a home again. They may never be able to replace Jackson, but they know he would be happy to see his people so loved and his home filled with happiness once more.
