In the world of kittens, sometimes the smallest ones have the biggest personalities. This is certainly the case with Dilly, a tiny kitten who, along with her four siblings, was found abandoned at just two days old.
Penny Richards, a kind-hearted volunteer at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington, Virginia, took the orphaned kittens under her wing.
They were so young they still had their umbilical cords attached, and Penny knew they needed round-the-clock care.
She fed them, kept them warm, and even dressed them in tiny onesies when they started suckling on each other – a common but potentially harmful behavior in orphaned kittens.
Dilly, the tiniest of the bunch, was a fighter from the start. She needed extra encouragement to eat and was slower to develop than her siblings. But what she lacked in size, she made up for in personality. Dilly was sassy, opinionated, and not afraid to let the world know what she wanted.
As the kittens grew, Dilly’s spunky spirit shone through. She was always the first to pounce on a toy and loved nothing more than snuggling in a warm lap. Her foster mom, Penny, couldn’t help but adore her.
When the time came for the kittens to find their forever homes, Dilly’s big personality caught the eye of a loving family. They welcomed her into their home, where she quickly bonded with their resident cat, Ronan.
Dilly, ever the social butterfly, adores her new big sister. They play together, explore together, and even nap together. Dilly’s new mom, Shira, can’t get enough of her playful antics and loving nature.
